Of clothes, shoes and bags and the disease called shopping

Got back from Ros' grandpa's wake. Everything's ok. He was 95.

I shall move away from unpleasant things and talk about the disease called shopping.

I met Jamie at Taka Sushi Tei today. It was good to see her again and yak and laugh and covert a whole full plate of salmon sushi that belonged to the guy sitting next to her. I love my sashimi salad.

Anyway, being at Taka is always dangerous. That's where it triggers the shopping disease. The word 'SALE' seems to be everywhere. I was observing the people who were inflicted with this disease: women! Yes! And guess what? I got that too! Went into Furla and got myself a little card holder and a white top from Zara.

You know, a woman can never have enough of bags and shoes. I'm serious! And the acquisition process (read: shopping) takes place most intensely at a sale. Every bag and pair of shoes, suddenly, seem very attractive and desirable. Even if clothes don't form part of the acquisition process, bags and shoes are imperative. Every woman in New York(ok, not really every woman) always has some shopping with her. Sales are everywhere all the time in New York. It gets better when you go to the factory outlets.(OK, I'll ramble on that another time) I miss those Boxing Day & January sales in England..heh! However cold it was, however wet and grey it was, sales just went on.

I have a big plastic box(those that have a cover and little wheelies at the bottom of the box) and a flower-like thing(something from Ikea for keeping toys) full of bags. And I realised that I haven't carried some of them in years.

I have a shoe cabinet outside the house which I share with my family. I don't wear most of the shoes in there anymore. There's a shoe rack next to the door on the inside of the house in the living room. It looks like there isn't anymore space. I have a couple more pairs of shoes in my room. Of all the shoes I own, I don't wear more than half of them.

I tell you, it's a disease. Shopping. Whoever marries me will have to be very willing to give space to me for my bags and shoes. Haha! It's just like 'Sex and the City' where Carrie has an entire room full of shoes(we're talking Manolo Blahniks and clothes). I'm serious - I would love to have a room just for my clothes, shoes and bags in my house. Not because I have that much to take up the size of a room but it's like walking into a store with everything in a single space. There - the effect of the shopping disease.

Singapore, London, New York, Paris, Barcelona - the shopping disease. It's everywhere.

And I realise that I'm just rambling on aimlessly and senselessly. It must be the shopping disease.
