I hate to have to say this but the VPL is a no-no. I thought of putting images of horrendous examples of VPLs but out of respect, I shall leave them out. Let me say what I have to say about the VPL.
The VPL is something I never really took notice to, as far as I'm concerned, till I went to uni(Aahhh...you see, the importance of education). Suddenly, it dawned on me that it's quite obscene to have this line that runs along the cheek of the butt show against the pair of trousers, regardless of colour.
I'm definitely more conscious nowof the VPL. I admit I'm guilty of this fashion crime, especially when I'm in the gym. It's more obvious when one is wearing tight bottoms like those DriFit or Lycra type of material, you know, basically those that would 'stick' to the bottom. (ohh..remind me about the gym - have a story to tell). For goodness sake, it's the gym where I'm going to work out & sweat like mad so who's going to care about VPL?!
Actually, the VPL is quite a distraction. Just today, I attended the Body Jam class. It was a great class because besides being able to kick butt at Body Combat, I shake butt too!! (hur hur hur!) The Jam class was taken by a guy (whom I'm certain that he is gay & he's REALLY good!) . He was wearing a pair of white track pants, which totally showed the outline of his underwear. So excuse me, it's not just VPL we're talking about here - it's VPS or Visible Panty Sight. It was really obscene especially when he was ermm..shaking butt. OK, when I say obscene, it's not the R(A) obscene but rather, in the funny way. It was SOOOO distracting. For the record, I'm not attracted to him but arrrrgghhh...the VPS was too distracting! He's more sultry than the ladies. Check him out when we do "Rich Girl" by Gwen Stefani. Other than that, he's a good instructor.
Anyway, bottomline (NO pun intended!) is this - where possible, keep VPL minimal or out of sight. The worst mistake anyone can make is to wear red underneath a pair of white linen pants.
I've said my peace & I shall now become invisible & make myself visible in dreamland. Please, don't check my VPL out.

Can't agree more!
White school uniforms (RI) should be bannned! Even if those brainy know-it-alls don't mind flaunting their VPL/VPS we mind, its a HEALTH HAZARD! *puke puke*
Maybe the Men-In-White who rule the little red dot should consider changing their party attire too. Old man in white pants with underwear showing is NOT pretty.
