Today must have been one of the days where I could leave work before 5pm & not feel bad about it. Went on an impromptu but very fruitful trip to Parkway Parade with Haz :) She must be my other half in shopping & clothes/shoe fetishes. We went round to every possible clothes shop to admire & critique clothes. The best must have been to this cheapo shop that sells loads of stuff - Top 20. There was a wide variety of clothes sold in that shop - Ah Lian to Boho to funky beach babe to frumpy Aunty outfits. I tried on about hmm..5 outfits & ended up buying one. Haz tried about 3 & bought 2 :) It was fruitful. More importantly, it was cheap AND good. I think the combined amount spent must have been about $50, which is really good. I love the bit where we go "Whooaaaa...so nice!! How much?" Touch the outfit, examine, smile & put it back on the rack. See!! It doesn't take a single cent to be spent to derive any form of satisfaction. All you need is something to please the eye, feel the outfit a little & then walk away after putting it back. Who says women are big spenders?! :P We have eye for good things, ya know? ;)
Dinner was the fun part - slice fish macaroni & tauhu telok..yum!
The more fun part was the dinner talk. There was SOOOOO much to talk about - work, people, current affairs, travelling, clothes & shoe fetish! I think the shoe fetish talk bit was good. It's strange how it came about considering we were talking about New York & then tadah...shoes became the topic. It must have been the Manolo Blahniks & Jimmy Choos. I think I'll invest in a pair when I go to New York this December. Will probably get a nice, comfy pair of full leather Prada or Ferragamo black flat pumps from Bergdorf Goodman. Each pair goes at about US$150 - US$200 at the sale, down from the usual price of US$450 up. It sounds extravagant but they are good investments because full leather shoes are known to last for nearly forever. Dad's boss's full leather Ballys lasted him 10 years!
You know a good pair of Manolos or Jimmy Choos(JC) compared to some pasar malam or any other brand of shoes. The heels of Manolos or JCs, despite being at least 2 inches off the ground, give much security & stability. You can run around in them (a la Sarah Jessica-Parker in Sex & the City) yet still not feel that they are wonky. It's fantastic...I'm getting myself a pair!!
You know, if there's anything, girls can never have enough of bags & shoes. I don't know why God programmed this into us. Perhaps He wanted us to have lots of fun since bags & shoes are so much fun. There are so many patterns, colours & sizes of these accessories but they only serve one purpose, that is to make any female feel good :) Anything related to clothes, bags & shoes will put any woman on the top of the world. I love being a woman!!!!
