Good things come in small packages

I found the greatest delight on earth. Not that it's the newest thing ever but it's delighting me for now. OK, I mean, it delighted me for a week.

It's this. Mochi. Delicious yoghurt/ice-cream wrapped in rice dough. This one I bought came in 4 flavours - mint, blueberry, peach and.....my favourite...MANGO!!! They were really tiny though but there were 16 of these pieces in the box. Sorry, I ate them all before I captured the little things on camera :D

I was first introduced to this delight in New York (surprise!) because my parents bought a box of that from a Chinese supermarket in Chinatown. Good 'ol me, trying to stay off sweets, turned down so many of these yummy things until last December, I succumbed to the last green tea-flavoured mochi in the box. I regretted being such an arse for staying off sweets (as you can tell, no difference in the way I look). Since then, I've been looking high & low in supermarkets like Carrefour and NTUC for the mochi. Found them in Meidiya (where Daimaru used to be) but good grief, each box of 4 costs $7.90! Saw it again in NTUC but they had it in yam and black sesame flavour. So finally, took a trip down to Cold Storage & tadaaahhhh...I found this at $5.90 :)

Now, Cold Storage is my favourite supermarket. Mochi mochi!!
