According to an episode of What Women Want on Discovery Home & Health, women are so obsessed with shopping & acquisition of more clothes, shoes & bags. OK, nothing very new on that. A woman, in her lifetime, will spend at least £100,000 on clothes, shoes & bags - that is, if she's not Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan or Victoria Beckham. In the process of that, she would have walked about 31 miles per year at the shopping centres/high streets.
Interesting facts but sometimes, it feels like a lot more has been accomplished - £100,000 & 31 miles per year don't seem very stretched considering that a woman's wardrobe is ever-exploding with new clothes, bags & shoes. How is it that women still complain about not knowing or not having anything to wear?
I admit that I fall into that. Afterall, I'm supposed to have a black belt in shopping ;p
A couple of men were interviewed in the show about what they thought about women spending all their lives shopping & obsessing over it. They just simply cannot understand why women are programmed as such. Are they are jealous that they don't have as much variety? :p One of them expected his partner to be honest with him about her shopping habits & expenditure. Now, that's tough!
That aside, with eBay & other online stores, the amount could be over £100,000 & distance-wise, certainly more than 31 miles per year. It's the Internet, baby. Thousands of miles, across lands & seas :D
The joy & satisfaction in shopping, regardless of the need to, the type of purchase or what men think or have to say. Any form of acquisition is a woman's victory. That's what women really want.
