1. Don't Stop Moving - S Club 7
This was a song that was pretty hot back in 2nd year & was heard on the radio practically every hour & in every club. It's the song that Woman & me love grooving to. So Woman, if you are reading this...I'll never forget St Marks Flats & crapping around Leeds City Centre!!! :D (Naffees, The Ale Shop, cheese in sink..etc etc)
2. It's Raining Men - Geri Halliwell
A-ha!! Geri Halliwell's cover of The Weathergirls' hit is a real hit. I'll never forget the MTV with a real thin & toned Ms Halliwell prancing in front of the camera. 'tis this song that got me inspired to exericse harder & I'm (not) proud to say that I still haven't reached what she looked like in the MTV. Otherwise, it's a great song that inspires one & all to work out very hard. Oh yes, I never forget the reactions in the gym (haha..paid 50p to use it each time) - the guys would stop & stare while the MTV played while the girls work harder on the machines :)
3. Sing It Back - Moloko; Get Get Down - Paul Johnson
These 2 songs were club staples in first year. Every club/party I went to never failed to play these songs. Good grief! I still have images of the silloheuttes of ermm...this particular big girl from the hall who danced to Paul Johnson's song. Help!!!!
4. Starlight - Superman Lovers
I don't know why this one but I only remember hearing this song each time I push the 'Radio' button on the player, or on my lazy Saturdays.
5. Better Off Alone, Back in My Life - Alice DJ; Blue (Da Ba Dee) - Eiffel 65
Aaaaahhhhhh!!!! These songs from First Year. What made these songs more memorable was the fact that my brother came to visit me in Leeds & we were listening to these songs in the miserable cold in my room during winter. I remember us making jelly & putting it at the window to set because it was cold enough outside plus there wasn't space in the fridge..tee hee! But yeah, it was the time where my brother & me experienced snow together for the first time in our lives...when these were the songs that were hot on the air waves.
6. Dancing in the Moonlight - Toploader
You must admit that this is a feel-good song. It's one of those songs you play at gatherings where everyone is talking & laughing..having a good time over some drinks.
Still many many many many many songs...just can't list them all here.
England. One place I don't stop falling in love with. The 3 years spent there were probably the best years I've had in my life. It certainly wasn't all smooth going for some reason or another but they were the years that shaped my life & who I am now. It's good to be going back there again this June albeit for a different reason - work, as in bringing 44 students for their study trip. I certainly wish that I could spend more time there meeting old friends & re-living the past if I could. Otherwise, it's a trip I'm looking forward to for old-times sake.
