Ugly skirts convention

I just watched The Devil Wears Prada with Ag. It's a great, great movie! The wardrobe was fantastic. Extensive. Anyone interested in clothes, shoes & fashion in general should catch it. Not only because it's pleasing to the eye fashion-wise but there were many great lessons & quotable quotes from it.

Ugly skirts convention. The gathering of people wearing ugly skirts. It's hilarious how this phrase came about. I shall not say anything here since I don't want to spoil the movie for those who haven't seen it (& are planning to). I know that from now, Ag & I are going to use this phrase for a long time to come. We'll start scrutinising people's skirts to see if it's 'ugly skirts convention'-worthy.


This skirt, for example, would be considered to be a sample from the ugly skirts convention, in as far as the definition from the movie is concerned. Actually, by my standards even, it is ugly :P Sorry to those who own anything like that.

There are a lot of ugly skirts out there but then again, ugly, just like pretty, is subjective. Thus, I shall respect the fact & to each her own idea of what an ugly/pretty skirt is. Then again, don't say that you've not been warned. :P
