I am definitely straight. And so is my hair. It's in! Straight hair is in! After the ceramic perms, plastic perms, oxygen perms, etc, straight is back :) I don't care what perms but hurray, straight hair rules now.
So it's not just the straight, ironed-flat hair but straight with body. Think Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, just to name a few, at the Oscars this year. What did they wear on their heads? Straight crowning glories.
The reason why I am so excited about this is because I have always lamented about my straight hair and since I don't-know when, I have told myself that I must give myself a perm, if not, do big curls on my tresses. Well, I did the perm thing about 4 years back. It didn't last more than 2 weeks because my hair refused to stay permed. No one could really tell that I had a ceramic perm and that was a complete waste of time and money. In that 2 weeks, I had to apply some cream conscientiously to my hair after every wash and blow dry it in some style. Too much trouble.
Wasn't all too happy when the permed look was in the last few seasons, especially when my hair is straight and flat to the point that hairdressers always ask if I ever rebonded my hair. But now, what joy, the striaght look is in. So you see, straight is good afterall. Less problems. It's just wash and go for me now :)
For once, I feel like I'm with the crowd :p
