BYOB

Be Your Own Boss.

From recent & current events in my life now, I figured that it's good to BYOB. True, it's not easy to run one's own business but at the same time, it can be liberating to not have to report to someone who will tell you 'no' or ask you 'why'. That isn't to say that running one's own business will not subject oneself to 'no' or 'why'. The point is this - in BYOB, you are boss! (Though I dare say that it's one hellavu risk I'm not sure if I dare to take).

I have a poster in my room - ' I Love Life - 50 Rules to Living'. It's a poster I just had to get after I graduated from uni before coming back to Singapore (how apt it is).

Rule 23 reads:
Don't work too hard for your employers - they only care for what you can do for them.

Wise words indeed. I've learnt that no one is indispensible at work. BYOB.

I always knew BYOB to be 'Bring Your Own Booze' or 'Bring Your Own Beer'. Never knew it meant 'Be Your Own Boss' too. For a while, I even thought 'Buy Your Own Business' :p
