Beginning from the top:The blue spot indicates St Marks Street, where I lived in my second year. I was on the 3rd floor & I had great fun with my flatmate, Jamie, whom I most affectionately call 'Woman' :D We had 2 Greeks & a French for flatmates. The French girl, Gwen, was nice. We had little chats & poor Woman & I, in our not-quite-there Chinese tried helping her & explaining some things Chinese to her because she was doing a BA in Developmental Studies & Chinese! WHOAAA!!! The 2 Greek girls...ermmm...not wanting to make them sound bad but well, Greeks are a fun-loving bunch of people who do tend to get a bit loud at times. Woman & I were mostly irked by the smoke (when we requested for non-smoking) & the rotten cheese, among other food, that we found in the kitchen sink.
The out-of-shape red circle is actually 2 buildings I wanted to highlight along Lyddon Terrace. One of them is Ellerslie Hall, where I lived in first year & the other is where the Faculty of Law is located. Ellerslie Hall was a girls hall when I was there & since then, it's now a mixed hall. I was priviliged to be given a newly-refurbished room. The room was formerly an attic of an old house but it's now nice, bright & yellow.
The good thing about living in Ellerslie Hall was that because it was next to the faculty, I left my room at 8.58am to attend seminars next door, unless my lectures were held elsewhere. After my seminars, I always came back to my room for the extra snooze before the day began proper for me.
The red spot somewhere near the bottom of the picture is my house on Springfield Mount where I lived in third year. It was the largest room ever because the house was basically an old Victorian house that has been converted for rental to students. So in other words, I got to occupy what used to be a living room. And because it was the largest room, it was also the coldest room in the house. It was located mid-way between the main building that housed the LTs and the faculty itself & I had the hospital 2 minutes away from me :)
The arrow on the right indicates the way to town - the other place where I would spend my time besides sleeping & watching TV. You notice that I hardly mentioned the library because I usually preferred doing my work at home (read the previous sentence :p)
I really do have thoughts about going back there to study. It would be nice to have someone pay for me again...haha! Otherwise, it's back to the grind. Otherwise, you've come to the end of another boring entry.
